The Mathletics program focuses on six key learning goals in mathematics and statistics:

• Graph Sense

Summary of the assessment findings:

• Improved Scores: In both the 2022 and 2023 Mathletics programs, students generally achieved higher scores on post-assessments compared to pre-assessments, indicating an overall improvement in their mathematics and data knowledge.

• Specific Learning Goals: In 2022, students demonstrated statistically significant gains in 4 out of the 6 learning goals. In 2023, there were statistically significant gains in the Statistical Terms and Visualizing Data learning goals.

• Student Perceptions: Students themselves reported that one of the biggest strengths of the program was that it helped increase their mathematical knowledge. They also indicated that they gained mathematical knowledge from participating in Mathletics.

• Parent Perceptions: Parents surveyed also believed that their children were learning mathematics and statistics in the camp. Parents noted the program’s strengths in connecting math to real-world problems and enhancing their children’s mathematical knowledge and confidence.

• Skills Acquired: Students reported learning about graphs and plots, skewed data, qualitative and quantitative data, and presentation skills. They demonstrated an increased understanding of statistics and analytics, particularly through sports.
