Maryland Sports Data Investigations

also known as ‘Mathletics’, seeks to build adolescents’ knowledge of statistical concepts and the data science process, increase their motivation and interest in advanced mathematics and statistics courses, and expose them to STEM careers. The program involves a three-week summer camp and Sports Data Saturdays during the school year. Through funding from the National Science Foundation, the project expanded in 2021 from the University of Maryland’s campus include a partner site at Coppin State University (CSU) in Baltimore, MD.
